Your voice, the words you speak, and HOW you speak them, becomes the voice inside you child’s head. Is it uplifting, hopeful, loving? Your voice will set them on a trajectory for the rest of their lives and will be the basis for if they like themselves or not.
What is your voice saying? What are you communicating? What do you want your child to believe about him/herself. Here are some good ones:
- Yes!
- You can do it.
- I love you.
- I understand.
- That’ makes sense to me.
- How are you feeling?
- It’s okay to cry, to be sad.
- I’d like to hear what you think.
- What you think is important to me.
